In May 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction The Indian Sale, which included this untitled work by Paritosh Sen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,946.47), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Paritosh Sen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ahmedabad Scene in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 84,000.00 (€ 66,209.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Indian Sale durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Paritosh Sen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.946,47) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paritosh Sen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ahmedabad Scene im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 84.000,00 (€ 66.209,51).
