Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Woman Filling Up the Lota by Paritosh Sen was sold in the Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba auction at Christies in New York in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,080.00 (€ 10,303.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paritosh Sen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ahmedabad Scene in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 84,000.00 (€ 66,209.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Woman Filling Up the Lota von Paritosh Sen wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.080,00 (€ 10.303,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paritosh Sen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ahmedabad Scene im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 84.000,00 (€ 66.209,51).
