This artwork by Paritosh Sen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,572.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paritosh Sen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ahmedabad Scene in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 84,000.00 (€ 66,209.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Paritosh Sen erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.572,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paritosh Sen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ahmedabad Scene im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 84.000,00 (€ 66.209,51).
