Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Portrait Of A Woman by Paris Bordone was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 75,600.00 (€ 61,997.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paris Bordone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Believed To Be Of The Fugger Family, Standing Three-Quarter Length Within A Palace Interior, Wearing A Crimson Satin Dress And Holding A Prayer-Book In Her Right Hand in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 914,850.00 (€ 1,162,327.22).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Believed To Be Of The Fugger Family, Standing Three-Quarter Length Within A Palace Interior, Wearing A Crimson Satin Dress And Holding A Prayer-Book In Her Right Hand im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 914.850,00 (€ 1.162.327,22).
