Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Bearded Man, Head And Shoulders, In An Interior by Paris Bordone was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 47,881.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paris Bordone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Believed To Be Of The Fugger Family, Standing Three-Quarter Length Within A Palace Interior, Wearing A Crimson Satin Dress And Holding A Prayer-Book In Her Right Hand in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 914,850.00 (€ 1,162,327.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Bearded Man, Head And Shoulders, In An Interior von Paris Bordone wurde im Januar 2012 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 47.881,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
