Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Gentleman by Paris Bordone was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2017. The price achieved of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 139,480.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paris Bordone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Believed To Be Of The Fugger Family, Standing Three-Quarter Length Within A Palace Interior, Wearing A Crimson Satin Dress And Holding A Prayer-Book In Her Right Hand in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 914,850.00 (€ 1,162,327.22).
