Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings Part II, which included the work The calling of Peter by Paolo Farinati. The »bidding war« ended at USD 36,000.00 (€ 26,354.32), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paolo Farinati - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ecce Homo, which sold at auction in July 2006 for GBP 54,000.00 (€ 79,049.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit The calling of Peter von Paolo Farinati zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 26.354,32) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Paolo Farinati mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ecce Homo beobachtet, die im Juli 2006 für GBP 54.000,00 (€ 79.049,67) versteigert wurde.
