Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Drawings, which included the work The bust of a woman flanked by male and female satyrs holding drapery by Paolo Farinati. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,050.00 (€ 8,250.49), 15% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Paolo Farinati have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ecce Homo in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 54,000.00 (€ 79,049.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The bust of a woman flanked by male and female satyrs holding drapery von Paolo Farinati zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.050,00 (€ 8.250,49) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paolo Farinati auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ecce Homo im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.000,00 (€ 79.049,67).
