In July 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings Sale, which included the work A Standing Soldier In A Niche, Possibly Attalus I Of Pergamon by Paolo Farinati. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 51,650.00 (€ 65,788.22), 72% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Paolo Farinati; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ecce Homo sold at auction in July 2006 with the realized price of GBP 54,000.00 (€ 79,049.67).
