In September 2018 Christies in Shanghai held the auction FIRST OPEN | Shanghai, which included the work FLEETING MOMENTS by Pacita Abad. The »bidding war« ended at CNY 102,000.00 (€ 12,778.52), 46% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Pacita Abad have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orange Punch in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 75,112.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im September 2018 führte Christies in Shanghai die Auktion FIRST OPEN | Shanghai durch, in der auch die Arbeit FLEETING MOMENTS von Pacita Abad zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von CNY 102.000,00 (€ 12.778,52) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pacita Abad auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orange Punch im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 75.112,47).
