Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cocoon by Pacita Abad was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia: Art on the Runway auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019. The price achieved of HKD 40,000.00 (€ 4,639.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pacita Abad achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orange Punch in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 75,112.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Cocoon von Pacita Abad wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: Art on the Runway bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 40.000,00 (€ 4.639,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pacita Abad erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orange Punch im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 75.112,47).
