This artwork by Pacita Abad achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections auction, the work Blue sold for HKD 525,000.00 (€ 59,255.50) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Pacita Abad; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Orange Punch sold at auction in May 2018 with the realized price of HKD 687,500.00 (€ 75,112.47).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Pacita Abad erzielte im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections wurde die Arbeit Blue für HKD 525.000,00 (€ 59.255,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Pacita Abad; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Orange Punch im Mai 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 687.500,00 (€ 75.112,47).
