Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work The Young Head Potter by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 22,680.00 (€ 26,421.95). Admittedly, works by Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shade of Black in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 212,332.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Young Head Potter von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 22.680,00 (€ 26.421,95) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shade of Black im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 212.332,26).
