Artwork auctioned at 17 times the upper estimate price
When the work Paysage à la tour by Otakar Kubin was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in March 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 17 times as high at EUR 8,820.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otakar Kubin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Récolte Des Pommes De Terre - Circa 1909 - 1910 in March 2018 with an auction result of EUR 244,600.00.
Kunstwerk zum 17-fachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Paysage à la tour von Otakar Kubin im März 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 8.820,00 mehr als 17-mal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otakar Kubin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Récolte Des Pommes De Terre - Circa 1909 - 1910 im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 244.600,00.
