The »bidding war« ended at USD 18,750.00 (€ 15,708.78), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oscar Edmund Berninghaus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in. in November last year with an auction result of USD 542,175.00 (€ 525,210.69).

Die Arbeit Natural Bridge von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus wurde im August 2020 in der Auktion American Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 15.708,78) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oscar Edmund Berninghaus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Ancient Forest of the Indians 25 x 30 in. framed 30 x 35 in. im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 542.175,00 (€ 525.210,69).
