Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Figure in a Circle by Oleg Vassiliev was worth GBP 220,500.00 (€ 263,010.25) to a buyer in December 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 70,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oleg Vassiliev - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Before The Sunset, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 468,500.00 (€ 588,552.20).

Die Arbeit Figure in a Circle von Oleg Vassiliev war einem Käufer im Dezember 2021 GBP 220.500,00 (€ 263.010,25) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection bei Sothebys in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 70.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Oleg Vassiliev mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Before The Sunset beobachtet, die im März 2008 für GBP 468.500,00 (€ 588.552,20) versteigert wurde.
