This artwork by Oleg Vassiliev achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2019. In the Escape Artists 2.0: The Non-Conformists Online auction, the work Artists In New York sold for USD 250,000.00 (€ 224,114.75) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oleg Vassiliev - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Before The Sunset, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 468,500.00 (€ 588,552.20).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Oleg Vassiliev erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Escape Artists 2.0: The Non-Conformists Online wurde die Arbeit Artists In New York für USD 250.000,00 (€ 224.114,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Oleg Vassiliev mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Before The Sunset beobachtet, die im März 2008 für GBP 468.500,00 (€ 588.552,20) versteigert wurde.
