Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Descending Cowboy by Olaf Wieghorst for USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,180.28). This price was achieved in the auction Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Olaf Wieghorst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Opening of the Cherokee Strip in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 225,000.00 (€ 193,182.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Descending Cowboy von Olaf Wieghorst für USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.180,28) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Olaf Wieghorst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Opening of the Cherokee Strip im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 193.182,79).
