This artwork by Olaf Wieghorst achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2021. In the California and Western Art Online auction, the work Studies of a Horse sold for USD 446.25 (€ 394.28) - well above the upper estimate of USD 250.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Olaf Wieghorst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Opening of the Cherokee Strip in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 225,000.00 (€ 193,182.79).
