A top price for Olaf Wieghorst - as previously expected
The work Opening of the Cherokee Strip by Olaf Wieghorst was sold in the The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection auction at Christies in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 225,000.00 (€ 193,182.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Opening of the Cherokee Strip is the most expensive artwork by Olaf Wieghorst that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Opening of the Cherokee Strip von Olaf Wieghorst wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert.
