Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work River 3, 07/2008, position 4, 69°44’0.97’’N, 49°31’40.82’’W, 2009 by Olaf Otto Becker was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 280.30). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Olaf Otto Becker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greenland, Ilulissat Icefjord, 07/2003, 69°11’50’’N, 51°12’54’’, 2003, which sold at auction in July 2018 for GBP 625.00 (€ 700.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit River 3, 07/2008, position 4, 69°44’0.97’’N, 49°31’40.82’’W, 2009 von Olaf Otto Becker im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 250,00 (€ 280,30) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Olaf Otto Becker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Greenland, Ilulissat Icefjord, 07/2003, 69°11’50’’N, 51°12’54’’, 2003 beobachtet, die im Juli 2018 für GBP 625,00 (€ 700,76) versteigert wurde.
