Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Buoys in a barn 07/2000, 2000 by Olaf Otto Becker for GBP 250.00 (€ 280.30). This price was achieved in the auction Edition Gerd Hatje: Contemporary Photographs, Prints & Multiples at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Olaf Otto Becker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greenland, Ilulissat Icefjord, 07/2003, 69°11’50’’N, 51°12’54’’, 2003, which sold at auction in July 2018 for GBP 625.00 (€ 700.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Buoys in a barn 07/2000, 2000 von Olaf Otto Becker für GBP 250,00 (€ 280,30) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Edition Gerd Hatje: Contemporary Photographs, Prints & Multiples bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Olaf Otto Becker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Greenland, Ilulissat Icefjord, 07/2003, 69°11’50’’N, 51°12’54’’, 2003 beobachtet, die im Juli 2018 für GBP 625,00 (€ 700,76) versteigert wurde.
