Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Moonlight and Shadows by Olaf Wieghorst for USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,171.80). This price was achieved in the auction The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Olaf Wieghorst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Opening of the Cherokee Strip in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 225,000.00 (€ 193,182.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Moonlight and Shadows von Olaf Wieghorst für USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.171,80) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Olaf Wieghorst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Opening of the Cherokee Strip im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 193.182,79).
