Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2013 Christies in London held the auction The Japanese Aesthetic, which included the work Woodblock print, a woman dying cloth, signed Gekko and sealed by Ogata Gekko. The price achieved of GBP 562.50 (€ 676.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ogata Gekko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unknown in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,832.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Japanese Aesthetic durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woodblock print, a woman dying cloth, signed Gekko and sealed von Ogata Gekko zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 562,50 (€ 676,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ogata Gekko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unknown im Juli 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.832,65).
