Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese And Korean Art, which included the work Dancer by Ogata Gekko. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,250.00 (€ 790.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ogata Gekko have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unknown in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,832.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese And Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dancer von Ogata Gekko zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.250,00 (€ 790,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ogata Gekko auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Unknown im Juli 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.832,65).
