A top price for Ogata Gekko
In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art and Design, which included the work Unknown by Ogata Gekko. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,832.65), 54% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Unknown the most expensive artwork by Ogata Gekko that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Juli 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art and Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Ogata Gekko zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.832,65) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Unknown zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Ogata Gekko, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
