A top price for Norval Morrisseau - as previously expected
In November 2011 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Shaman And Turtle by Norval Morrisseau. The price achieved of CAD 71,500.00 (€ 52,106.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Shaman And Turtle is the most expensive artwork by Norval Morrisseau that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shaman And Turtle von Norval Morrisseau zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 71.500,00 (€ 52.106,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Shaman And Turtle das teuerste Kunstwerk von Norval Morrisseau, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
