Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Norval Morrisseau could be acquired at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Canadian Art auction, this work without title changed hands for CAD 14,400.00 (€ 10,339.23) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of CAD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Norval Morrisseau have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shaman And Turtle in November 2011 with an auction result of CAD 71,500.00 (€ 52,106.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Norval Morrisseau konnte im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Canadian Art wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für CAD 14.400,00 (€ 10.339,23) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Norval Morrisseau auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shaman And Turtle im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 71.500,00 (€ 52.106,30).
