This artwork by Norval Morrisseau achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2011. In the Important Canadian Art auction, the work Sacred Snake Of Good & Evil sold for CAD 42,000.00 (€ 30,607.89) - well above the upper estimate of CAD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Norval Morrisseau; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Shaman And Turtle sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of CAD 71,500.00 (€ 52,106.30).
