This artwork by Nouri al-Rawi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in October 2014. In the Modern & Contemporary Arab, Iranian & Turkish Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,971.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nouri al-Rawi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in October 2014 with the realized price of USD 21,250.00 (€ 16,959.30).
