In June 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including BaghdadiyatIraqi Masterpieces from the Madhloom and Makiya Collections, which included the work Waiting At Rawi by Nouri al-Rawi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,650.00 (€ 8,914.24), 53% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nouri al-Rawi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in October 2014 with the realized price of USD 21,250.00 (€ 16,959.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including BaghdadiyatIraqi Masterpieces from the Madhloom and Makiya Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waiting At Rawi von Nouri al-Rawi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.650,00 (€ 8.914,24) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Nouri al-Rawi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 16.959,30).
