Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2001 Christies in Melbourne held the auction CONTEMPORARY ART, which included the work Man Proping (Sic) Up World by Noel McKenna. The price achieved of AUD 1,527.50 (€ 877.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Noel McKenna have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Green Door, Merrylands, 2005 in July 2020 with an auction result of AUD 9,760.00 (€ 8,289.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2001 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion CONTEMPORARY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man Proping (Sic) Up World von Noel McKenna zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 1.527,50 (€ 877,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Noel McKenna auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Green Door, Merrylands, 2005 im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 9.760,00 (€ 8.289,45).
