Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Recto: The Finding Of Queen Zenobia On The Banks Of The River Araxes; Verso: Various Sketches: The Head And Shoulders Of A Woman Resting Her Cheek On Her Right Hand, And A Further Study Of A Left Hand, A Landscape, And At The Bottom A Slight Torso Of A M by Nicolas Poussin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 93,064.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas Poussin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Baptism Of Christ in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 1,815,000.00 (€ 2,145,117.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Recto: The Finding Of Queen Zenobia On The Banks Of The River Araxes; Verso: Various Sketches: The Head And Shoulders Of A Woman Resting Her Cheek On Her Right Hand, And A Further Study Of A Left Hand, A Landscape, And At The Bottom A Slight Torso Of A M von Nicolas Poussin zur Versteigerung kam.
