Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Lion Standing in Wind, Maasai Mara by Nick Brandt was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October this year. The price achieved of USD 11,430.00 (€ 10,815.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nick Brandt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elephant drinking, Amboseli, 2007 in May 2018 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 99,639.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Lion Standing in Wind, Maasai Mara von Nick Brandt kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.430,00 (€ 10.815,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nick Brandt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Elephant drinking, Amboseli, 2007 im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 99.639,03).
