This artwork by Nicholas Pocock achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October last year. In the Churchill to Eden: The Collection of the Earl and Countess of Avon auction, the work View Of Barbados sold for GBP 6,930.00 (€ 8,073.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Pocock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Admiral Rodney's flagship H.M.S. Formidable, 98-guns, breaking the line, at the beginning of the Battle of the Saintes, 12th April 1782 in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nicholas Pocock erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Churchill to Eden: The Collection of the Earl and Countess of Avon wurde die Arbeit View Of Barbados für GBP 6.930,00 (€ 8.073,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Pocock erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Admiral Rodney's flagship H.M.S.
