In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction The Arthur Ackermann and Peter Johnson Collection: A Connoisseur's Choice, which included the work A warning shot by Nicholas Pocock. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,703.09), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Pocock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Admiral Rodney's flagship H.M.S. Formidable, 98-guns, breaking the line, at the beginning of the Battle of the Saintes, 12th April 1782 in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).
Formidable, 98-guns, breaking the line, at the beginning of the Battle of the Saintes, 12th April 1782 im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.250,00 (€ 180.975,11).
