Sold at the lower estimate price
The work A hillside massacre by Nicholas Pocock was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2006. The result of GBP 300.00 (€ 439.71) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Pocock achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Admiral Rodney's flagship H.M.S. Formidable, 98-guns, breaking the line, at the beginning of the Battle of the Saintes, 12th April 1782 in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).
Formidable, 98-guns, breaking the line, at the beginning of the Battle of the Saintes, 12th April 1782 im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.250,00 (€ 180.975,11).
