This artwork by Nicholas Nixon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2011. In the Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II auction, the work Elm Street, E. Cambridge; and Covington, Kentucky, 1981-1982 sold for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,781.24) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Brown Sisters in April 2015 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 331,481.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nicholas Nixon erzielte im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II wurde die Arbeit Elm Street, E. Cambridge; and Covington, Kentucky, 1981-1982 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.781,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Nixon erzielen.
