Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Traditionally Identified As James, 2Nd Marquess Of Douglas (1646-1700) by Nicholas Dixon was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2017. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,324.38). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicholas Dixon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of James, Duke Of York, Later James Ii, King Of England (1633-1701), Circa 1665, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,889.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Traditionally Identified As James, 2Nd Marquess Of Douglas (1646-1700) von Nicholas Dixon kam im März 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.324,38) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Dixon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of James, Duke Of York, Later James Ii, King Of England (1633-1701), Circa 1665 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2018 für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 20.889,16) versteigert wurde.
