Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,040.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicholas Dixon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of James, Duke Of York, Later James Ii, King Of England (1633-1701), Circa 1665, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,889.16).
