In December 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Tennis Court, from 'Reflections of Robben Island' by Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,550.00 (€ 3,041.62), 70% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Cell Door, Robben Island in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 112,575.00 (€ 100,973.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tennis Court, from 'Reflections of Robben Island' von Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.550,00 (€ 3.041,62) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Cell Door, Robben Island im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.575,00 (€ 100.973,18).
