Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Francis Bacon, Bookshop In Charing Cross Road, London, 1984 by Neil Libbert was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,466.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Neil Libbert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Francis Bacon, On His 80Th Birthday, 1989, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,567.13).

Die Arbeit Francis Bacon, Bookshop In Charing Cross Road, London, 1984 von Neil Libbert kam im März 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.466,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
