Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work David Hockney Arriving At London Heathrow Airport From Los Angeles, October, 1974 by Neil Libbert. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 813.00 (€ 941.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Neil Libbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Francis Bacon, On His 80Th Birthday, 1989 in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,567.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit David Hockney Arriving At London Heathrow Airport From Los Angeles, October, 1974 von Neil Libbert zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 813,00 (€ 941,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Neil Libbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Francis Bacon, On His 80Th Birthday, 1989 im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.567,13).
