Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work At The Start, Newmarket by Neil Cawthorne. The price achieved of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,578.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Neil Cawthorne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Full Cry, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 4,465.00 (€ 7,297.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit At The Start, Newmarket von Neil Cawthorne zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.578,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Neil Cawthorne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Full Cry beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 4.465,00 (€ 7.297,87) versteigert wurde.
