In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work After The Race At Newmarket - July Course by Neil Cawthorne. The result of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,778.48) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Neil Cawthorne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Full Cry in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 7,297.87).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit After The Race At Newmarket - July Course von Neil Cawthorne zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.778,48) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Neil Cawthorne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Full Cry im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.465,00 (€ 7.297,87).
