In September 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Nakamura Shikaku II (1900-1981) as Horikawa gosho no Shizuka Gozen, in the play Yoshitsune senbon zakura, 1926 Morita Kan'ya XIII (1885-1932) as Genta Kagesue, in the play Hiragana seisuiki, Act II, 1928 Ichikawa Sansho X (1880-1956) as Uiro-uri, 1 by Natori Shunsen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,026.72), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Natori Shunsen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sosaku hanga shunsen nigao-e gashu (Creative prints: collected portrait-pictures by Shunsen) in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 25,850.00 (€ 29,395.04).

Im September 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese and Korean Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nakamura Shikaku II (1900-1981) as Horikawa gosho no Shizuka Gozen, in the play Yoshitsune senbon zakura, 1926 Morita Kan'ya XIII (1885-1932) as Genta Kagesue, in the play Hiragana seisuiki, Act II, 1928 Ichikawa Sansho X (1880-1956) as Uiro-uri, 1 von Natori Shunsen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.026,72) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Natori Shunsen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sosaku hanga shunsen nigao-e gashu (Creative prints: collected portrait-pictures by Shunsen) im März 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 25.850,00 (€ 29.395,04).
