A top price for Napoleon Sarony - as previously expected
The work Portrait of Oscar Wilde, 1882 by Napoleon Sarony was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2019. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,482.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait of Oscar Wilde, 1882 is the most expensive artwork by Napoleon Sarony that we have observed at auctions so far.
