Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Nandipha Mntambo could be acquired at Bonhams in London in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction, the work Praça de Touros V changed hands for GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,831.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nandipha Mntambo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Swazizeus in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 26,250.00 (€ 29,887.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nandipha Mntambo konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art wechselte die Arbeit Praça de Touros V für GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.831,56) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nandipha Mntambo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Swazizeus im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.250,00 (€ 29.887,07).
