Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Swazisengifikile by Nandipha Mntambo. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,231.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nandipha Mntambo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Swazizeus, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 26,250.00 (€ 29,887.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Swazisengifikile von Nandipha Mntambo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.231,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Nandipha Mntambo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Swazizeus beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 26.250,00 (€ 29.887,07) versteigert wurde.
