The work Scenes in India: The ghats at Benares; On the river steps at Agra; Figures on a covered marble terrace over looking a river; and Figures on a balcony by Mortimer Luddington Menpes was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2010. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,156.61), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mortimer Luddington Menpes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Benares, Blue Is The Sky in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,189.42).
